To fill the streets of my 1930’s US metropolis many vehicles will be needed.
A very common car at the time was the Ford A, produced between 1927 and 1931, numbering more than four million vehicles. The model is in 1:87 scale and is made by Athearn.
I gave the model two washes of dark green and brown to give some depth to the model. Then I drybrushed the model with a tan color and added some grey weathering powder to the wheels.
Besides placing the rusty barrel as cargo, I weathered some wood to give it an aged look. I also added some dirt and sand to the bottom.
It was a very quick and simple project, but the wonderful little HO model now looks a lot more like a real vehicle!
Can you recommend other vehicles suited for the American 1930’s?
